Without doubt, one of the most beautiful songs ever. It hasn't yet been released, and it makes me want to cry. A predominantly acoustic track, the second half also features some keyboard loops from Jonny. Musically it isn't too complex, but it has that elusive feeling, when a song just sounds perfect. A really moving piece of music, and yet another track which has been kicking about for years without any planned release. I suggest you find a bootleg of this song NOW.

Though fans have been begging Radiohead to release this song for years, it seems all hope is not actually lost as Thom recently was quoted in an interview saying that they are dying to get this track finished.

Update: True Love Waits was played several times during the 2001 Amnesiac Tour. Surely meaning it's still being worked on and will be released?

Further Update: A live version appears on the I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings EP which was released in November 2001. Though a studio version still doesn't exist, the band played it numerous times on their last tour, and the fact that a live version has now been officially released surely means this is one song that will eventually be completed.

I'll drown my beliefs
To have you be in peace
I'll dress like your niece
And wash your swollen feet

Just don't leave
Don't leave

I'm not living
I'm just killing time
Your tiny hands
Your crazy kitten smile

Just don't leave
Don't leave

And true love waits
In haunted attics
And true love lives
On lollipops and crisps

Just don't leave
Don't leave

Don't leave
Don't leave
Thom Yorke "[on the lyric 'I'll dress like your niece'] The difference between young and old when people start to dress sensible and act their age. This person is offering not to do that to keep the other. Alles klarr?" - Thom

"We'd love to record that [true love waits]. We'd love to find a way to do it, other than on an acoustic guitar. We have an entire section in our tape store just for True Love Waits versions. Every time we start a version of it we get a different song. For 'OK Computer' we got 'Push Pull' out of it." - Thom

Ed O'Brien
"This is a song which has been kicking around for four years or so, in fact we recorded a version of it when we were making the last album and this is something like approach number 561. But it is a great song... It's simply trying to find a way of doing it which excites us. And we may have found a way, at the very least we've found a new approach... Basically the track has the same vocal melody but the chords have changed underneath it. So we'll come back to it and see how it sounds. It may of course be utter crap and we have so lost the plot on this song... Please don't let that be the case..." - Ed
