IN LIMBO

Released:
Oct 2000
Length: 3:31
Disc: Kid A
Tablature: Guitar | Bass

Originally titled 'Lost At Sea', this is another guitar song on the electronic Kid A. This one is very harsh, and also very 'limboish'. Yes.

Thom's lyrics blend in with the guitar fuzz from Jonny and Ed creating a 'lost' feeling. Towards the start of the song Thom (or Ed) mumble a load of indecipherable lyrics which we can't understand. But
Green Plastic Radiohead seem to think they do, so we've just got what they think.

Debuted at Theatre Antique, Arles, France on June 13th 2000. NME wrote:"In Limbo featured more syncopated, staccato guitar work from Jonny Greenwood, with a powerful loose groove to give it some meat. After the song Thom said: "For those of you with tape recorder, that was 'In Limbo'. I wouldn't want you to get it wrong"

This track has one of the most intense and brilliant endings in any song. With Thom's screeching blending with Ed's mumbling and the guitar fuzz becoming more loud and desperate each time. Wew... It sounds even better live, too. One song that literally does sound perfect live in every way. It was designed that way. It sounds better rough than with the clearness of a studio. Maybe I'm just rambling. Hey, someone has to fill these cells.

Lundy, Fastnet, Irish Sea
I got a message I can't read
Another message I can't read

Being the first in the Irish Sea
I got a message I can't read
Another message I can't read

I'm on your side
Nowhere to hide
Trapdoors that open
I spiral down

You're living in a fantasy world
You're living in a fantasy world

I'm lost at sea
Don't bother me
I've lost my way
I've lost my way

You're living in a fantasy world
You're living in a fantasy world
You're living in a fantasy world
With the most beautiful woman in the world
