Thom recorded this song with the band Drugstore and it was released in 1998 on the bands White Magic For Lovers LP. Thom and Drugstore's lead singer, Isabel, are great friends and have often been accused of having an affair!
Isabel had this to say about that: "It’s not like that. I am a friend of his girlfriend. And he is so short! I like tall men. But I won’t say that there wasn’t an atmosphere of seduction..." |
Yeah, yeah, yeah It came from the skies It burst throught the gates With no mercy or disguise With their hearts set out in flames I know I've seen the master plan Well I'm just a man (I am just a man) I'm not giving in All the people understand As they all fell down and prayed I know I've seen the master plan Yeah, yeah, yeah They've killed the president They've killed the president It came from the skies (it came from the skies) In all shades of green We can always justify We can measure up your dreams I know I've seen the master plan Yeah, yeah, yeah They've killed the president They've killed the president Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah They've killed the president They've killed the president They've killed the president They've killed the president I'm just a man Note: Black is Thom, Blue is Isabel Monteiro. |
"Thom's a really wonderful & easy going sort of guy & I feel very priveliged to have worked with him. I think he has about the best voice around out of any band at the moment, really a stand out. There were a couple of times when he did become a little difficult to work with, like when things weren't going quite right, but I really think that's because he's such a perfectionist. We've toured with Radiohead before & that's sort of how he came to be involved in that song. We had to get him to come back & redo the vocal, because it turned out to be in the wrong key & he didn't mind at all." - Mike Chylinski of Drugstore |
